About the Item

Large 19th Century French Bronze Allegorical Figure Signed Lemoyne A striking and well-cast bronze sculpture dating from the late 19th century, signed Lemoyne to the base. The figure is confidently modelled, holding a laurel wreath in one hand and a classical chalice in the other — a symbolic representation of Victory or Triumph. The bronze is finely detailed throughout, with a rich brown patinated finish and naturalistic modelling typical of the Beaux-Arts period. Likely cast by a French or Belgian foundry around 1880–1910, this piece displays excellent workmanship and presence. The surface shows minor casting lines and light wear commensurate with age. Two small holes to the base suggest a title plaque was once affixed. An elegant and decorative sculpture of good scale and timeless appeal. Dimensions: Height: 59 cm Width: 20 cm Depth: 25 cm Origin: France or Belgium Date: Circa 1880–1910 Signed: Lemoyne (cast signature to base) Condition: Good, with light surface wear and minor casting marks.
