About the Item

19th Century Gilded Wood Mandalay Standing Buddha, Myanmar Gilded and jeweled robe with a serene expression standing in a lotus shaped pedestal. The gilt and the jewels show some minor losses attributed to age and use. Outreached arms with hands down to the folds of the cape giving the impression that he is holding the tip of the robe. It has good presence and demeanor. Measures 47.5" in height and 22" at its widest point.
