19th century Italian hand-carved and painted cherub presents a charming, colorful and adorable rendering of a young winged cherub, holding a spiral torchere in one hand that can be used for a candle, and a palm frond in the other. Vivid coloration including gold accents are preserved with the polychrome method, developed originally by the ancient Greeks,
circa 1870s.
