About the Item

From the early 20th century, and before, the imagery of the humble banana has always captured our interest and attention. From Claes Oldenburg to Any Warhol and more recently, Maurizio Cattelan, the art world and art collectors understand the importance of continuous symbols in Art through time. The banana is at once Dada, Pop and Surrealist; a necessity for anyone who wants to casually reference a variety of Art Movements. We love this set on a stack of books, on a cocktail table, or entry console. Displayed together or individually, the perfect yellow in color, they are a subtle yet whimsical addition anywhere. In overall good original condition with minor scratches and scuffs. Authentic hand-painted Italian carved 1940’s alabaster. Each piece of fruit will be wrapped separately for protection during shipping.
