Art Deco Bronze Sculpture Nude Lady, Scarf Dancer by G. Ninin, France, 1925

This sculpture, depicting beautifully figured and energized nude lady in a gracious pose, signed by Claire-Jeanne-Roberte Colinet. Extensively exhibited in Paris Salons throughout the Jazz and Deco Age, Belgian-born artist Claire Jeanne Roberte Colinet (1880-1950) was known for her fluid, dynamic figural sculptures. This statue, entitled 'The Snake Dancer,' exemplifies her signature style. It features a nude female dancing with a snake around her leg. It is mounted on a pyramidal onyx base bearing the artist's signature, "C.J.R. Colinet." It's a truly lovely Art Deco period piece to grace any sideboard or table. The Dancer Snake was a silvered bonze however the silver disappeared.
