Stylish and decorative wooden female nude sculpture.
This hand-carved nude lady from the 1920s is in excellent condition. Her natural poisture is a very relaxed one and only a few of these type of artworks by Barend Jorden have appeared onto the market in recent years. His style of work is very recognizable and we are certain that this is by Barend Jorden, but there is no signature so we have to attribute.
Barend Jordens, Amsterdam [1888-1962]
Barend Jordens was a versatile artist. He was both a painter and sculptor, designed furniture and was ceramist. He lived and worked most of his life in Amsterdam, where he was a member of the artists society Arti et Amicitiae.
This sculpture has a timeless quality to it and it will look good in every interior. I once read that a good sculpture looks good from all angles and that is also the case with this lovely nude. If you are looking for good quality art and antiques at reasonable prices. we have plenty of both.
