French 19th Century Louis XVI St. Bronze and Ormolu Statue of Diana and Her Dog

About the Item

An elegant and high quality French 19th century Louis XVI st. patinated bronze and ormolu statue of Diana and her dog, signed A. Carrier. The statue is raised by a most decorative base with block designs and a fine mottled border. At the center is the beautiful Diana leaning on a column with a quiver at her feet. She displays the crescent moon in her hair and is draped in a wonderfully executed flowing garment with her hand on her loyal companion's head at her side.
