About the Item

A handsome French 19th century patinated Bronze statue of a horse and groom, modeled after the horses of Marly. The excited horse is rearing up with its front legs off the ground, its mane blowing in the wind, and an animal skin draped over its back. The groom is firmly grasping the reins with both hands in an effort to control such a powerful and majestic animal. A wonderfully rich and warm patina with fine details throughout.
