About the Item

German Bisque Porcelain "Triumph Of Bacchus" Sculpture. Centerpiece represents the mythological Bacchus, the god of wine, drunkenness, and excesses. Bacchus is the central figure of the sculpture, holding a cup in his right hand, with two maenads crowning him with vine leaves and pouring him a drink from an ewer. Two children fight over a basket of grapes while on the back side of sculpture, a child is enjoying feeding a recumbent panther. Maker's mark located on reverse side on bottom trim. Figurines sit on large bisque base.
