Large Mid-Century Abstract Reclining Figure Wood Sculpture by Joseph Martinek Joseph Martinek (1915-1989) was an American sculpture who studied at the State Industrial School of Art, Prague, Czechoslovakia, from 1934-1939. This abstract form is carved from wood and placed atop a dark wood pedestal. It's features are defined by a Modernist, almost Cubist aesthetic influenced by earlier streamlined Art Deco and Cubist sculptures. American, circa 1960s. Measures: 26" H, 46" W, 17" D
