Circa 1910
Louis Chalon (1862-1915) was a French painter, illustrator, and sculptor. After studying painting with Jules Lefebre and Boulanger, Louis Chalon began his career as an illustrator. In 1898, he created a series of trompe-l'oeil illustrations for porcelain. In 1900, he became known for his drawings in newspapers such as Le Figaro illustré, L'illustration, and La Vie parisienne. At the same time, he continued his design work, creating numerous interior ob-jects (lamps, inkwells, vases, clocks), in which he revisited the popular theme
