Mid 19th Century French Processional Figure

About the Item

Mid 19th Century French Processional Figure A wonderful example of a mid 19th Century hand carved processional figure of a well dressed lady. All with original clothing intact including a silk and velour gown covered in hand stitched detail and wearing pearl necklace, headdress and great detail. She holds a silk braided tassel in one hand. Hand painted features with real hair under silk netting. At the reverse of this figure is a hollow lower back with metal hook, which leads us to believe that she could have been a religious processional figure at one point. The entire figure is made using sectioned pine sections and all in original untouched condition. Dimensions in inches: H 29” x W 13” x D 7” Age: Mid 19th Century Origin: France Condition: Good In overall very presentable good solid condition, this item shows signs of wear and tear in the form of faded material and painted surface. The back of the gown is discoloured as shown in the photos provided from the rear. This item has stood the test of time with all its regalia intact. The craftsmanship is excellent and very well finished as shown. We strongly suggest reviewing all the photos provided as part of this advert and propose questions where sections are unclear to avoid disappointment upon purchase.
