Pair of Supper Large (14.5") Chinese Famille Verte Glazed Porcelain Foo Dogs

About the Item

Fine, large, and very detailed pair of Chinese famille verte glazed foo dogs from the early 20th century. The hollow biscuit porcelain figures stand raised on a rectangular base and are looking sideways with open mouths and tongues showing teeth each with a raised front paw, one resting on a ball and the other stepping on a puppy dog. Both have finely molded details with black over-painted eyes and are richly decorated in famille verte glazes which have pooled around the lower body and within the molded ridges. Both have impressed numbers on the bottom. The condition is excellent with no damages, and repair, just wonderful quality.
