Romanesque Antique Carved Stone Head

About the Item

Engaging Romanesque Antique Carved Stone Head, intriguing linear incised hair, tightly curled beard and moustache, wide eyes and pronounced eye brows. Most Likely 12th Century or earlier. Limestone Measurement does not include stand. Reputedly found in the Early 20th Century in River Le Serin at the foot of the Chateau de Sauvigny le Beureal, Burgundy, France. Private collection since 1960's.
