About the Item
An extraordinary bronze pear from the “Le Jardin Extraordinaire" by the collaborative French artists Jean-Claude Mazel and Yann Jalix. The large pear balances on a fruit box and has vibrant red and tan patination with the top leaf in a deep bronze green. Signed , “Mazel & Jalix” and numbered 3/8.
The artists met in the 1980s and began collaborating in 1989. In 2000 they launched the “Le Jardin Extraordinaire” Collection which includes Apples, Cherries, Watermelon and other fanciful fruits and vegetables.
Condition: The overall condition is very good with a small rub or nick to the pear body (see close-up photo) mentioned for accuracy as the Pear presents very well.
The bronze measures 12” wide by 11.15” high by 6.75” deep.
