About the Item
This studio plaster from the 20th century was created by Charles Filleul.
It is most likely a preparatory work for a commissioned public statue, as visible traces of hand modeling remain.
In terms of condition, please note that the piece has been broken and reassembled. There are visible cracks, losses, and signs of wear. Nevertheless, the sculpture retains a strong presence and elegant character.
Charles Filleul (1853–1907) was a French sculptor known for busts and figurative works. A student of Cavelier and A. Millet, he was a member of the Société des Artistes Français and received an honorable mention in 1887.
