About the Item

Unique Otoma_03 sculpture Totem by Emmanuelle Roule. Unique piece. Dimensions: W 25 x H 35 cm Materials: stoneware, earthenware Unique piece in 2 separate elements, stoneware and earthenware. With glazes. Creative studio founded in 2007 in Paris. Curious about new projects and encounters, the studio is characterised by a multidisciplinary dimension : design, art direction, space and contemporary art. Experimentation, research and fun. "I work through research and experimentation with clay material. I have a specific approach to design and in the act of making, through multidisciplinary thoughtand using an empirical method whereby the material and its intrinsic properties (as well as the process of transformation) hold a central place in its conception. Working with clay raises the question of a perpetual back and forth between an ancestral material, an inherited savoir-faire, that has been transmitted from the past and its inscription in the contemporary creation as a material of multiple uses, with a strong environmental and sustainable dimension. On the border between crafts and contemporary art, its objects, sculptures and installations have a strong architectural dimension and question our relationship to the environment, to the territory and to the environment."

Unique Colorful Sculpture, Toni Losey
By Toni Losey
Located in New York, NY
Brigette, 2022 (Ceramic, C. 9.8 in. h x 9.4 in. w x 7.9 in. d, Object No.: 4006) Toni Losey’s work hums with an underlying current of rhythm and organization.  The repetition found on the wheel influences her work as Losey intuitively builds sculptural forms mirroring the patterns of growth in nature.  These works evolve within a set of rules developed from her personal interpretation of the natural world. As she attempts to marry technical processes with conceptual prowess, the work that emerges seems to exist outside of the maker, something otherworldly but organic, familiar but new. Losey’s work captures natural progressions found in nature and aims to renew our connection to the planet. Losey, born in the Canadian prairies...
