A large Art Deco kinetic figurative carousel sculpture, early 20th century
About the Item
An incredibly rare Art Deco expressionist sculpture of a kinetic figure, mid stride with valise, mounted on rotating metal stand, early 20th century. Little is known about the provenance of this collectible and especially unique piece, other than it does hail from the Art Deco period. Towering at a monumental nearly 30 inches tall, this statuesque piece would be a statement in any discerning collection. The rotating metal stand, adorned with gears, alleges that this piece was once perhaps part of a greater mechanism - a carousel one wonders? The figure is snow colored with ever so slightly iridescent bubblegum pink hair and totes a licorice-toned suitcase, which is also in itself kinetic. A wonderful sculpture which will indubitably add history and whimsy to any interior.
