This striking pair of antique carved Corinthian capitals has been repurposed into decorative wooden stands, mounted on elegant black metal bases. Dating from the 19th century, these pieces reflect the enduring influence of Corinthian order architecture, celebrated for its ornate capitals adorned with acanthus scrolls.
Age-related splits and losses to the acanthus leaf scrolls are present, but these only enhance the character and authenticity of the pieces, highlighting their rich history and storied past.
