Collector Grade Water Lined Agate Geode, cut in Butterfly Wings Format

About the Item

This unique, small agate geode displays collector-grade horizontal water line laces formed over millions of years that showcase the exact position where the agate formed. A top-tier specimen, it's perfect for your gallery shelf or as a standout addition to your table that will leave friends in admiration. Nature amazingly formed the agate layers, where you can see the growth pattern it underwent over millions of years. Horizontal bandings that are called "Water Lines" tell us about the exact position in which the agate was when formed, as the silica-rich water settled at the bottom of the geode. The colors in this geode are another highlight. The bandings display deep color tones, ranging from an external caramel hue that gradually transitions to blues. In the center of the geode, there's a bold white layer preceding the druzy. It is very important to highlight the fact that this Agate Geode brings its purest form, and no treatment has been applied to it. Outstanding from every angle, this water-lined lace agate geode is sure to be an amazing addition to your crystal collection. Check out the photos for more details and feel free to message us if you have any questions or specific requests. 🤍 You may be wondering, how the laced agate layers formed? It's truly fascinating: agates normally form inside bubbles or cavities of igneous (volcanic) basalt and, over time, are filled with layers of water with high concentrations of silica. The water is slowly evaporated, forming a layer of silica gelatin and then a layer is formed. It is a very slow process and each layer contains different impurities, thus forming different colored bands.
