About the Item

Lrg Polished Prehistoric Ammonite Specimen for Fossil Collectors This ammonite is of the Goniatitida order and is larger than most of its type; most were typically around 2 inches. They went extinct 139 million years ago. It's a nice display ammonite, polished, with interesting features and colors, which are to our eye as follows: goldish-green, dark burgundy-brown, white, gold, and coral/peach/orange, with bits of black or very dark blue. We brightened the main photo to show detail but the rest of the phots and the video are as-taken (in indoor natural light), not color edited. Although this has been polished for display, it is a prehistoric fossil so will show its age (of course!) such as fine crack marks, which show a lot more in photos than they do in the actual piece, and a rough/unpolished spot on the side, also shown. This piece will need a stand for you to display it upright unless you lean it as we have done for photos. General Information: Measurements are approximate and generally represent the highest, widest, and thickest areas of an item. Species and where discovered are estimated based on available comparisons, research of others, and/or the source from which we obtained the specimen as we are not fossil experts. Please expect that prehistoric items such as fossils may have signs of wear, use, or need for cleaning. Some may also have had repairs/restorations or have been sealed for preservation's sake. Please be aware that the color on your monitor and/or in your environment may look slightly different than in ours, so color is not guaranteed to be exact. Please also keep in mind that vintage and older items usually will show some indication of previous ownership and handling. Buyers of vintage and older items are presumed to understand and accept these. Since we do not do returns, please feel free to send questions if you have any before your purchase and we will be pleased to respond. #polishedammonite #largeammonitefossil #sculptural #ammonite #Decor #naturalworld #naturalspecimen #fossils #prehistoric #ocean #sea
