Oval Shaped Deep Purple Amethyst Geode Section

About the Item

This small oval shaped formation has particularly deep purple, large amethyst crystals separated by a streak of white quartz, exposed from a tangentially cut and polished stalactite. This piece was legally and ethically sourced directly in the prestigious mines of Uruguay, South America. Uruguayan amethyst is internationally recognised as being the finest and most aesthetic amethyst in the world, due to its intense deep purple colouration, the large size of its peaked crystals, and its durability. These crystals were formed over 120-140 million years during the Cretaceous period, and as all of our pieces are formed naturally, they are completely unique and unrepeatable natural wonders of art.

Rare Amethyst Geode with Deep Purple Amethyst, Blue Lace Agate, and Calcitcite
Located in Ametista Do Sul, BR
A geode that stands as an impressive natural sculpture, with calcite, deep purple, and shiny amethyst, and an aesthetical calcite inclusion interlacing that forms a unique display of natural artistry, a centerpiece. Rarely seen in any Amethyst specimen, the contrast between the deep purple Amethyst and the Blue Lace Agate creates a stunning visual effect. The Blue Lace Agate forms a natural frame in teal, white, and light blue colors that allows the Amethyst to shine from within, bringing its grape-jelly purple, along with intact points, creating a lustrous, sparkly effect to the specimen. The Agate Lines are a very special and rare feature of this amethyst specimen. They formed uniformly throughout the entire specimen. The layers begin with a moss agate matrix containing calcite inclusions, which form beautiful natural flowers. These are covered by the first layer of blue lace agate. Atop this, baby-blue and white laces developed, eventually giving way to the galaxy amethyst, allowing it to shine. To crown the geode, calcite perfectly formed on its side, adding a much-needed contrasting aesthetical point to it. On a Cathedral with a Nave top, it stands at almost 19 Inches tall and weighing almost 55 lbs. This exceptional Amethyst with Lace-Agate geode specimen...
