1850s Albarelo Triana-Enamelled Ceramics, “Colonia Rosa”, Italian Renaissance

About the Item

Impressive Triana albarelo, or large pharmaceutical bottle, decorated with brightly glazed ceramic and plant motifs typical of the Italian Renaissance. This piece, probably used in ancient apothecaries or perfumeries, is inscribed with the text "ROSE COLOGNE," indicating its original use for rose-scented cologne. The rounded body, with a raised base and short neck, is finely decorated with arabesques in blue, green, orange, and yellow, with a lower and upper border framing the entire composition. The central inscription is surrounded by a white medallion with decorative crackle, lending authenticity and an antique character. It features a tap at the bottom, indicating that it functioned as a dispenser. A unique piece, ideal for collectors of antique ceramics, classic interior design, or historically inspired shop windows, blending functionality and decorative art with great visual impact.
