About the Item

A stunning and functional antique eighteen canister candy store display (Caramelera) made by Vendosolo (Vendo Solo) in Argentina in the 1920s or 1930s. Eighteen of the canisters are intact though one has a stable crack in the thick glass, see last photo. Originally this display had twenty-four canisters. Three of the canisters have replacement pull knobs... the rounded knobs are original while the angular knobs are replacements (see last 2 photos). Some of the canister lids have dents and they open at varying angles. Some of the lids spring closed and open while others do not spring. The condition of this canister set is not perfect, but it is charming and functional. Included are four canisters (and parts) that are in need of repair, if you so choose to do so. Over the years other Vendosolo canister sets have been available online for purchase but I am unable to find one this large. Condition commensurate with age and use. There are random dents in the canister lids. Wear is evident on the stand, though it is strong and sturdy. One canister has a crack in it. Three knobs are modern replacements.
