Grey Stoneware Coiled Moon Jar by Elena Vasilantonaki

About the Item

Grey Stoneware Coiled Moon Jar by Elena Vasilantonaki Unique Dimensions: ⌀ 23 x H 27 cm (Dimensions may vary) Materials: Stoneware, Earthenware Available finishes: Experimental Glazes, each one is unique Growing up in Greece I was surrounded by pottery forms that have changed little since the ancient times. Inspired by the various forms of those early vessels, I create works with an ancient feel and a minimalistic aesthetic, incorporating the principle of Japanese aesthetics of wabi sabi. The pieces are built entirely by hand with the coiling technique, in a variety of stoneware clays, red, black, white, brown, brushed with terra sigillata and\or experimental glazes and textured surface, resulting in slight variations with each piece. No watertight. Made in Athens, Greece.
