Large Famille Rose Chinese Covered Porcelain Jar With Garden Decoration

About the Item

A large and very decorative Famille Rose porcelain jar featuring a traditional theme in Chinese porcelain, an idyllic garden with an ornamental fence and rockery, from which a flowering tree springs. Exotic birds perch within the scene. The tree is complex in form, with varied detailed blossoms and vines emanating from it. The lid of the jar is glazed in a fresh pallet of turquoise and pink, complementing the more varied palette in the jar. Six character marks signed on the bottom. The jar rests on a gilded carved wooden base. 20th century, in the manner of early 20th century Republic Period porcelains, but likely is later. Very good condition, gilded stand with light wear to the gilding. H: 22 ¾ Diameter: 9 ½ (Height of the jar alone is 21”)
