Pair Of Chinese Polished Brass Gourd Shaped Bottle Flasks With Lizards

About the Item

A striking and decorative pair of handsome brass bottle flasks, originally oil lamps, fitted with intricate openwork fretwork bases. An alligator like lizard is wrapped around each. There is a screw cap at the top of each opening to a reservoir within. Would work well as mantel ornaments. Early to mid 20th century. Polished and lacquered, light wear, minor tarnish, some stress cracks to the brass bodies. H: 14 ¾ Diam: 6 ½
