About the Item

A truly outstanding Art Nouveau ceramic planter and stand in blue glazed faience, modelled as a trio of dancing satyr, complete with thyrsus in hand, their hoven feet firmly on the base of the stand, each with a raised arm holding aloft the huge, curled leaf planter. Both the planter and stand are of exceptional quality, detail and size, attributed to Jerome Massier (1850 – 1916) and dates to the late 19th century. This is a breathtaking piece of ceramic sculpture and is offered in superb condition, small signs of wear to the glaze, but no cracks, chips or losses.
