About the Item

A very fine pair of 19th Century hand painted porcelain lidded urns in the Sevres manner of exceptional quality and ormolu mounted with elaborately painted decorative golden detail against royal blue ground throughout. This fabulous pair feature lids surmounted with acorn finials with flower and foliate detail raised over a classic baluster vase body with elegantly tied ribbon bows and beautiful swags of foliate and flowerhead motifs to the rear and cartouches to the central reserve to the fore depicting delightful genre scenes of courting couples in delicate hues of golds, greens, blues, pinks, yellows and reds, framed with gorgeous arrangements of trailing foliate, flowerhead, scrolls and beaded motif detail. Flanked with finely cast ormolu richly scrolling foliate handles to the sides, terminating on ormolu inverted platform panelled base with foliate detail, both signed 'T.H. Boit'.
