Pair of French 19th Century Neoclassical Style Ormolu and Marble Lidded Urns

About the Item

An impressive pair of French 19th century Neo-Classical st. ormolu and Vert de Patricia marble lidded urns. Each urn is raised by three handsome ormolu paw feet with fine acanthus leaves. Above each foot are block reserves centered by elegant stretchers with concave sides and most decorative central and bottom topie shaped finials. Each of the beautifully scrolled supports above are adorned with fine foliate designs and large acanthus leaves. The bodies display striking richly chased lion heads with intricately detailed recessed wrap around foliate bands and stunning inverted central finials with fine palmettes. Above are the original removable Vert de Patricia marble tops with ormolu eternal flame finials. Also finished on the inside. All original gilt throughout.
