A Pair of Porcelain de Paris Ovid Form Vases, Circa:1820
About the Item
This is an exceptional pair of Old Paris vases with beautiful hand-painted panorama scenes. The bucolic scenes are of fashionably dressed people hanging out with cows by a meandering streams with medieval ruins in the background. The clouds and the trees are very finely rendered. They are hard paste porcelain with handles topped with bisque Harpies and gold leaf trim. As is typical of Old Paris urns, each is comprised of 2 pieces bolted together.
