About the Item

I want to offer you this amazing “Royal Vienna” style urn with a green background with exquisite paintings on both sides. The paintings are entitled "Die drei Gratien" or the three graces on one side and the other side is also titled mentioning Juno. Each painting is so eye catching with its bright colors and detailed work on a gold background. The gold background makes the painted figures very lifelike. On one side you can see the three graces dancing in their flowing dresses and their bare feet with a cherub on their side playing music on his lyre. On the other side of the urn is a painting of a scene of lovers, the lady in white flowing dress probably depicting Juno, with a lady attendant on both sides of the lovers. This urn is beautifully decorated with raised gilded jewels around the bottoms of the paintings on both sides. On the top of the paintings is a raised gold decoration. There are also many white raised jewels around the urn to accent the gilded decoration. The urn is artist signed A. Heer. The gold handles are in the shape of two birds heads facing each other. It is a spectacular decoration for any home. This urn is 16.25 inches tall. In the late nineteenth century, there were porcelain companies in Austria and Germany that painted their porcelain pieces in the Royal Vienna style, as there was not a Royal Vienna company during this period. At this time, there was a resurgence in the demand for beautifully painted porcelain pieces. The Vienna company closed in 1864. Many of these "Royal Vienna" porcelain masterpieces were after famous paintings that are in museums. Many of these companies painted magnificent portrait plates, porcelain plaques, vases and urns. The painting on many of these pieces, like this urn are museum quality, and heavily embellished with intricate raised gilding. These fabulous porcelain masterpieces are very popular and sought after, now as well as in the past. They are extremely collectible due to their intricate detailed fabulous artwork. This is a fabulous, rare Sevres covered pitcher with white ground that has an elegant central gold monogram for King Louis Philippe made for his Chateau de Trianon. The gold monogram LP is surrounded by a gold foliate leaf wreath. Above the monogram is a gold crown. It was part of the Service des Bas to be used at his royal estates. It was made in the 1840s. Above the royal monogram is a leaf and arabesque gold decoration that goes around the pitcher. It has a beautiful flowing gold handle that is connected to the pitcher with graduated gold gadrooning.
