ALCOVA Collection vases by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec for Wonderglass

About the Item

Designed by the internationally renowned French duo, Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec, Alcova is a collection of handcrafted, geometric objects whose groupings evoke landscapes. The designers describe the collection as “a series of coloured cast glass geometrical shapes that are organically composed. We approached this project in a brutal and primal way, working with the thickness of the material and letting the process guide us, seeking to preserve all the magic of molten glass in the hands of master glassmakers.” MATERIAL Cast glass COLOURS Dark Amber, Light Amber, Crystal Green DIMENSIONS: ALCOVA W 450 x D 220 x H 750 MM DRITTO SHORT W 700 x D 220 x H 500 MM DRITTO TALL W 500 x D 220 x H 800 MM CILINDRO S/L Ø 120 / 160 x H 240 MM VASO S/L Ø 120 / 160 x H 250 MM Available in different options, please inquire with us. MELT Collection vases by Nendo for Wonderglass
By Nendo, WonderGlass
Located in Brooklyn, NY
Melt is inspired by the transfiguration inherent in glass – the evolution from its incipient supple form when superheated in the furnace. The gently curved sections are made from large slabs of cast glass which, while still pliant, are laid over curved moulds by expert glassmakers. This allows the glass to yield to gravity and ambient temperatures, slowly sinking and stretching into graceful parabolae. Melt Collection includes Melt Side Table Low, Melt Vase A, Melt Vase B, Melt Vase C, Melt Vase D and Melt Chandelier...
