Located in Skarpnäck, SE
A fantastic and rather large handblown vintage art sommerso glass vase, design and signed by the talented Gunnar Nylund and Asta Strömberg from the prestigious Strömbergshyttan Sweden. This vase has a fantastic color, a deep smokey grey or nearly black color, covered with clear crystal. The design is simple yet very much of 60s and inspiration from the space age, it is sleek, elegant and sophisticated, especially with the fantastic contrasting color. -It is 27cm (10.62") high and 8.5cm wide (3.34") and 5cm deep (1.96") at the base, in a teardrop shape and in a good condition, yet some minor abrasion underneath, and micro soot flakes yet overall a fantastic vase. The price includes free shipping. Gorgeous "Sputnik" art glass vase by Asta Stromberg for Strombergshyttan, circa 1970s. The vase is a lovely clear glass and is in very good vintage condition; the piece measures 1.75"D x 11.75"H. Striking and quite beautiful! #2143 Strombergshyttan Strombergshyttan was founded in 1876, and was called the Lindfors glassworks until its changed its name in 1933. The name changed from Lindfors to Strombergshyttan when Edward Stromberg, who was the former head from Orrefors, bought the company in 1933. Together with his son Eric, he devised a way to produce a glass that had a bluish-silver hue, which became characteristic for Strombergshyttan. Gerda and Asta Stromberg designed most of the glass. The company remained in the Stromberg family until 1976, when it was sold to Orrefors. There had been a severe fire in 1973 which had left the glassworks in financial difficulties. Orrefors closed the Strombergshyttan glassworks in 1979. Gunnar Nylund and Rune Strand...
