About the Item

Dino Martens for Aureliano Toso Rooster Sculpture 1952 A vintage Murano art glass vase sculpture of a rooster designed by Dino Martens and manufactured by Aureliano Toso in Italy Murano in the 1950s. The sculpture is executed in opaque white and blue glass with a clear glass overlay. Aureliano Toso model number 5109. One of the iconic designs of Dino Martens which will highlight every Murano glass collection. Measures: Length: 9.06" (23 cm) Width: 4.72" (12 cm) Height: 8.07" (20.5 cm) Coming from a family of Murano glassmakers, Aureliano Toso founded his own company in 1938. The collaboration with the painter and artist Dino Martens already showed the first successes at the XXIII Biennale di Venezia. Over the years, more daring creations followed, which, as with Pop Art, were clearly far ahead of their time. Later, the influence of artists like Gino Poli and Enrico Potz can be seen in the creations. The production ended in 1965. artfour is an owner-managed trading company dealing with fancy pieces of Murano and Scandinavian art glass.
