Emile Gallé - 'Ombelles' Art Nouveau Cameo Glass Vase
About the Item
A fine, rare and large cameo glass vase of baluster form. The white and rose coloured ground overlaid with green and a honey colour then acid etched and wheel carved with a design of Umbel flowers. The ground surface is textured and entire vase is fire polished. Signed with the rare Calligraphic 'Gallé' signature in cameo.
This piece was produced in Emile Gallé's life time and is a high quality example of the manufacturer's industrial production utilising a number of glass making techniques including hand-finishing.
