A fine cased and heavily cold worked glass object by Samuel Weisenborn from 2018

About the Item

A fine cased and heavily cold worked glass object by Samuel Weisenborn from 2018. The blank made from green glass, thickly cased in clear by Peter Kuchinke in Sweden. Cut and refined in the coldwork studio by Samuel Weisenborn in Schiesheim in Germany. This is a one of a kind vessel from a work group that Sam named Destruction vessels. I would rather want to call it a reconstruction, since the result is far better and less random than something that was destroyed. Kuchinke has been working in the furnace of Seguso Vetri d'Arte earlier on. Casing sommersi vessel is something he does to perfection. Weisenborn has wisely chosen him to deliver heavy cased blanks to his studio. Sam Weisenborn on the other hand is a true master of the art of coldworking, and this stone cut vessel is full of different cuts and patterns from the coldworking repertoire of a skilled glass carver. It is signed and dated and in fine condition.
