Glazed Italian Chamotte Stoneware Vase attributed to Aldo Londi for Bitossi
About the Item
A rare and rather large chamotte clay stoneware vase executed in 'tricolore' glazes in green, red (orange), black, and grey (white). Much like the Italian flag. Decorated with circular geometric sun or flower like incisions towards the border of the green drip-glaze. We have seen this vase being attributed to Rorstrand but everything suggest that it was actually made in Italy during the 1960s by Aldo Londi for Bitossi. It has no markings which is not uncommon for Bitossi pieces of this period. Measurements: H: 30 cm, Diameter: 9 (neck/top).
