Grainger Worcester Porcelain Hand-Painted Grazing Cattle Vase

About the Item

A stunning English aesthetic movement porcelain vase hand-painted with a grazing cattle scene by renowned makers Grainger Worcester and dated 1893. The elegantly shaped and attractive vase stands on a round pedestal foot with a molded leaf pattern edge with acanthus style leaves arranged around the lower and upper pear-shaped body with a reticulated leaf and scroll ring around the lower column shaped neck with a trumpet shaped top. The body of the vase is beautifully hand painted with grazing cattle set within a landscape next to a river with some drinking. A simpler landscape with a church is painted to the opposite side. The vase has a blush ivory finish with pink painted leaves with gilded highlights. The vase has printed makers marks to the base along with various numbers and includes a registration mark dating the vase to 1893. Provenance: From a fine collection of Worcester porcelain, acquired in the British art market. In good used condition.
