About the Item

A stunning 19th century hand-enamelled pink over white opaline mantle vase attributed to Harrach with the number “2” on the bottom. The shouldered baluster body has a trumpet mouth, and is raised on an attached domed foot. It is decorated with a sparrow sitting among the branches of a wild rose bush. Harrach glass is the term for glassware produced by the Harrach glassworks in Bohemia. Elias Muller began operating the facility on the land of Count Raimund von Harrach in 1712. Although the company remains in operation today under the name Sklarna Novosad & Syn Bohemia Harrachov, the term Harrach glass usually describes colorful pieces made during the Victorian age. Place it on your favorite sideboard, dining table, foyer table or on your mantle with your other favorite collectibles. The perfect touch in a well appointed home.
