Japanese Contemporary Porcelain Vase Red Blue Gold Floral Crackled

About the Item

Elegant Japanese contemporary porcelain vase featuring gilded ring handles presents traditional Imari floral motifs against a fine crackle-glaze background on a beautifully shaped porcelain body. Bordered in blue and set off by a simple geometric design rendered in gold, the two scalloped panels depict peaches and pomegranates in shades of orange surrounded by green and brown foliage against a soft cream background. The pomegranates have burst open to reveal their ripened seeds. The two panels are connected by a traditional floral motif with golden peonies on an iron-red background. The neck of the vase features handles decorated with golden rings and boasts two small panels that repeat the same iron-red pattern as the body. The top of the neck is decorated with a traditional geometric pattern in gold on a dark blue background. The stunning shape of the vase and its decorations, highlighted by the fine crackle-glaze finish, make this a memorable piece. The kiln mark indicates that this unique vase is made in Imari In southern Japan with over 400 years history of creating some of the finest porcelain in Japan. Dimensions: H 14.5 in D 6.5 in.
