About the Item

A large vessel hand built in stoneware by Betty Blandino (1927-2011). An asymmetrical form with a lilac coloured panel over a textured surface, impressed with the potter's mark to the base. Born in London in 1927, Blandino became a full time potter in 1973 after studying painting and pottery at Goldsmiths College. She used the hand building techniques of coiling and pinching to create thin walled sculptural vessels.
