Circa 1880s, by Thomas Webb and Sons, England. This cameo glass vase, created by the celebrated firm of Thomas Webb & Sons, is a sublime illustration of the Japanese taste in late-nineteenth-century British decorative arts. The refined botanical motif in white relief on a translucent yellow ground displays fan palm fronds on one side and flowering grasses on the other. A museum-quality example of their work, this vase amply demonstrates the unrivaled skill and artistic sophistication characteristic of the Webb glass works. Excellent condition.
