Matching Pair of Handmade Nerikomi 'Vanilla Bean' Vases by Fizzy Ceramics
About the Item
Each vase is formed by putting a slab of alternating clays together before forming into a cylinder and sculpting to the finished shape. Before each firing stage, the clay smudges are sanded and polished away to create sharpness and definition between the alternating clays. Many vases crack at some point during the process so this flawless pair is very special. Made with a brick red clay and ivory white clay, glazed clear gloss.
Handmade nerikomi vase with two types of clay. Made and fired in Los Angeles by Fizzy Ceramics in 2020. Glazed clear on the outside and inside. Fired to cone 5 in oxidation, each piece is watertight and is designed to be used as a vase for fresh flowers.
