About the Item

Small Vase by Eigil Hinrichsen (1921–1999) Denmark Mid-20th Century A delightful, thin-walled vase by celebrated Danish ceramicist Eigil Hinrichsen, known for his refined forms and subtle, harmonious glazes. This small piece features a glowing Chinese-inspired blue glaze, capped with a delicate white rim, evoking the timeless elegance of classic Asian ceramics through a distinctly Scandinavian lens. Signed on the base with Hinrichsen’s distinctive EH monogram over “Denmark”, this piece reflects his dedication to craftsmanship and his quiet yet sophisticated approach to form and finish. The glaze is rich and even, with just enough variation to reveal the hand of the maker. Hinrichsen, who trained at the Royal Danish Academy and worked with some of Denmark's best studios, was admired for creating poetic vessels that bridged functional pottery and sculptural purity. His work is increasingly collected for its understated elegance and modern sensibility. In excellent vintage condition, with no chips, cracks, or signs of wear—a beautiful small object that brings depth and history to any collection or interior.
