Neolithic Chinese Painted Terracotta Twin-Handled Jar, Third Millennium B.C.


A Neolithic Chinese painted terracotta twin handled jar dating from the third millennium B.C. The earthenware jar has a bulbous form with two small loop handles attached to the lower body. The vase is painted with a horizontal band of cross hatched roundels to the upper body with chevrons painted to the neck. The vase is decorated in tones of black and is not marked.
