His career has been characterized by versatility and innovation, ranging from furniture design to industrial architecture. He has collaborated with several prestigious companies, including Cassina, Gavina, and B&B Italia. One of his most famous works is the Soriana chair, made for Cassina, which earned him the prestigious Compasso d'Oro in 1970. In addition to furniture design, Scarpa has contributed significantly to industrial architecture, with projects that combine aesthetics and functionality. His design philosophy is based on attention to materials and their processing, always seeking to enhance the intrinsic beauty of the materials themselves. His work is internationally recognized and he has received numerous awards and honors for his contributions to design and architecture. Still active today, Scarpa continues to be a leading figure in the contemporary design scene. MARK VENINI Tobia Scarpa has had a significant collaboration with Venini, a historic Murano artistic glassworks founded in 1921. Together with his father Carlo Scarpa, Tobia helped innovate and enrich Venini's repertoire in the 1960s and 1970s. During this period, Tobia Scarpa designed numerous glass pieces, characterized by a modern design that combined traditional Murano techniques with new shapes and colors. One of his best-known works for Venini is his series of lamps and objects in blown glass, which are distinguished by their elegance and purity of line. The collaboration with Venini allowed Scarpa to explore the versatility of glass as a material, creating works that are considered true masterpieces of contemporary design. His creations for Venini have been exhibited in museums and galleries around the world, cementing his reputation as one of the most important Italian designers of the 20th century. The collaboration with Venini represents a significant chapter in Tobia Scarpa's career, testifying to his ability to innovate while respecting craft traditions.
