Pair of Late 18th Century Brown Painted Batavia Trumpet Vases ‘Could Be Lamps’

About the Item

These trumpet vases are European and were made to copy Chinese porcelain vases being exported to Europe from China. This pattern is known as Batavia and is characteristic with the five-color panels within a brown lustrous glazed border. These vases were probably made in Berlin towards the end of the 18th century.
