About the Item

A pair of stunning crystal vase made by the talented Börne Augustsson during the 50s. The shape is very biomorphic. This is an early production of the type of vases that made Börne Augustsson very famous. He experimented with various shapes and eventually also with variations of colors. One is slightly elongated, the other has a rather round shape and they are both in a fantastic bright red color. They are 14cm high (5.51") and around 7-9cm (2.75"-3.54") in diameter and they are in a great good condition. Free shipping. A stunning red glass vase by Börne Augustsson för Åseda Glassworks, Sweden. Unsigned from the 1950s. A stunning modernist piece, this is very much a statement glass vase. Åseda was formed on 29 June 1946 and registered as Åseda Glasbruks AB on 14 March 1947. The production that used to be mostly laboratory, technical and tableware glass would later only include art and decorative glass in color as well as complementary tableware glass. Since the beginning of the 60's, the artist and designer Bo Borgström has been associated with the company and his work and design have given Åseda glass its own style, with usually robust shapes and bold colors. It was due to his skills that sales were increased internationally in Europe, North America and Australia.
