About the Item

A stunning and elegant French Art Deco hexagonal pottery vase decorated with blue crystalline glazes and dating from around 1920. The stoneware bottle shaped vase stands on a narrow hexagonal shaped unglazed foot with a slightly recessed base. The vase has a hexagonal shaped body of wide form narrowing into a tall funnel shaped neck with a slightly wider simple top opening. The body of the vase is decorated with blue crystalline glazes on a mottled brown ground with the blue glazes flowing into the top opening. The vase has a cream glazed base with an impressed PIERREFONDS mark and is numbered 375. An exceptional and very stylish example. Acquired from the UK Art Market. In good condition with wear associated with age and use.
