About the Item
A stunning and elegant French Art Deco hexagonal pottery vase decorated with blue crystalline glazes and dating from around 1920. The stoneware bottle shaped vase stands on a narrow hexagonal shaped unglazed foot with a slightly recessed base. The vase has a hexagonal shaped body of wide form narrowing into a tall funnel shaped neck with a slightly wider simple top opening. The body of the vase is decorated with blue crystalline glazes on a mottled brown ground with the blue glazes flowing into the top opening. The vase has a cream glazed base with an impressed PIERREFONDS mark and is numbered 375. An exceptional and very stylish example.
